Mark Kamins, the producer and DJ who discovered Madonna and presented her demo to Sire Records, has died from a “massive coronary” in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Kamins was the Assistant Director of Academic Review for Technological Studies at the Fermatta Music Academy in Guadalajara. He was a teacher at the school.
Back in 1982 he was the one who bought Madonna to the attention of Sire Records founder Seymour Stein, who then signed her to his label.
Kamins produced Madonna’s first single ‘Everybody’. He has also worked with David Byrne, Beastie Boys and UB40.
