Former Hunters & Collectors frontman Mark Seymour has praised MP Anthony Albanese for his choice of the Hunters’ song ‘The Slab’ during his DJ set earlier this week in Melbourne.
DJ Albo was hitting the decks for a charity fundraiser for member for Scullin Andrew Giles at the Bella Union in Carlton.
DJ Albo Has Excellent Music Taste, Check Out The Anthony Albanese DJ Playlist
As well as Hunters & Collectors, the Albo playlist included songs from The Humming birds, Celibate Rifles and The Falling Joys. “My taste reflects mainly 1980’s and 90’s independent music, with an emphasis on bands I saw live when the live music scene was vibrant and thriving,” Albo told Noise11 earlier this week.
Seymour is pleased with the Albo choice of Hunters & Collectors song. “Good on him,” Mark told Noise11. “I must see if I can track him down at some point. He has got a sense of humour. He has a quick wit. We need that. He’s someone who can think on his feet”.
When DJ Albo decides to go on a national tour, Mark says he could be interested in the support slot.
Mark Seymour will release is 9th album ‘Mayday’ next Friday, May 29, 2015.
