Mat McHugh will release his next album under The Beautiful Girls moniker.
McHugh’s last record was the solo EP ‘More Money’.
It has been four years since Mat used The Beautiful Girls name for recording. The last album ‘Spooks’ reached no 18 on the ARIA chart. Prior to that ‘Ziggernauts’ peaked at 21 in 2007 and ‘We’re Already Gone’ at 19 in 2005.
Mat has reunited with The Beautiful Girls co-founder and co-producer Ian Pritchett and the usual TBG suspects in the studio for the new album with funding through Pledge Music.
The Beautiful Girls album will be titled ‘Dancehall Days’.
To make it special for the fans, as well as pre-paying for the album through the Pledge Music campaign pledgers can participate in a weekend on the road with the band, get a custom made surfboard from McHugh’s good friend, and long time shaper, Stuart D’Arcy. They can also grab a guitar or sampler which will have been used in the recording or one of several other exclusive available offers.
The Beautiful Girls Pledge Music campaign kicked off on Friday June 6 and generated 14% of the goal within the first 24 hours. The campaign will run until the end of July.
