Matt Bellamy finds being on the cover of gossip magazines with Kate Hudson “incredibly embarrassing”.
The Muse rocker is engaged to high-profile Hollywood star Kate and the pair are regularly photographed out and about together.
Matt has joked that appearing in celebrity weekly magazines does nothing for his rock star reputation.
“That is incredibly embarrassing! I always hope that no Muse fans ever get to see it,” he laughed in an interview with German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau.
Matt also revealed how life has changed since meeting Kate in 2010. The pair have son Bingham – who was born in July last year – and the 34-year-old musician wouldn’t change his family life for the world.
“It all started with the break-up from my girlfriend at the time – an Italian psychologist. We just drifted apart. Six months later I met Kate and fell in love with her. But the best thing that has happened to me since then was having a baby. Becoming a father changes so much: the way you see the world and the way how you see yourself,” he gushed.
“A baby is the greatest fun that you can have. I am very happy with the whole situation. And I think we are dealing quite well with it all. Kate and I are very similar; we both don’t want to be in the spotlight too much.”
Muse are currently promoting their new album The 2nd Law which features a thermodynamic theme, and includes dubstep and electronica influences. Matt insists the idea is not weird though.
“No, I don’t think that we’ve lost the plot,” he smiled to Kerrang! magazine. “In fact, I’d say that on this album, we’ve found the plot.”
