Matt Corby has returned to his cottage in Berry Mountain to create his new video for the song ‘Monday’.
Corby wrote and recorded ‘Monday’ at his Berry house. He filmed the ‘Monday’ video ay home in one take.
‘Monday’ is the first sampler of Matt’s forthcoming debut album due in 2016.
“I recorded an album two years ago that I didn’t like,” he said. “For a lot of reasons I wouldn’t release it. It took me a year and a half to clear my head of everything that happened, accept my failures, reboot and have the balls to do it again.”
Corby came fifth in the 2007 season of Australian Idol. He was 16 at the time. Corby avoided the post-Idol circus, instead choosing to take his own career path which lead to the release of his 2011 EP ‘Into The Flame’ (no 3, 2011).
His 2013 song ‘Resolution’ won him Song of the Year at the ARIA Awards.
