In the past year, London-based Melburnians ME have played more than 100 shows in Europe and the UK, supporting Kasabian, Panic At The Disco and Evanescence, and are coming home for Australia’s Big Day Out 2013.
Recently headlining London’s Camden Proud Gallery for Music Week’s New Band Showcase, ME are garnering rave reviews from the British press.
Kerrang! called them, “Essentially Queen if every single member was Freddie Mercury”, while the NME proclaimed, “ME make massive, stadium-ready pomprock”.
BBC Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton described them as, “Like the lovechild of The Killers and Led Zeppelin”.
Even the respected Guardian newspaper got in on the act, stating, “Damian Tapley (guitar) makes like Brian May wrestling with Johnny Greenwood… Lady Gaga will love them”.
The Big Day Out festival takes place on 18, 20, 25, 26 and 28th January 2013, in Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth respectively.
