Meat Loaf was scheduled to perform at the new TECT arena in Tauranga but the show had to be postponed until next Tuesday, disappointing fans who had already arrived at the venue.

The Bay Of Plenty Times in New Zealand reports that 4600 tickets had been sold and that many fans had travelled long distances to see Meat Loaf in concert.

However, the promoters Frontier Touring Company said the postponement was “unavoidable”.

Meat Loaf is due to play in Auckland tomorrow night (Sunday, October 30). That show is still planned to go ahead.

A statement at the Frontier Touring website reads:

“The Frontier Touring Company wish to advise that, due to illness, the Meat Loaf concert scheduled to take place tonight at Tauranga’s TECT Arena at Baypark has been postponed to the new date of Tuesday 1st November.

“All tickets held remain valid for the rescheduled date. However, for those who cannot attend the new concert, tickets will be fully refunded from your point of purchase – Ticketek 0800 TICKETEK or www.ticketek.co.nz

“Meat Loaf wishes to extend his most sincere apologies to his Bay Of Plenty fans”.
