Meat Loaf is recovering in a Canadian hospital after collapsing during a show in Edmonton on Thursday night.

A statement has now been issued saying Meat Loaf was suffering from severe dehydration.

Meat Loaf update

Meat Loaf collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal — additional tests are being performed but he is responsive and recovering well.

He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone’s support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery.

Any concert postponements / rescheduled dates will be announced at a later time.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

While Meat Loaf is expected to make a full recovery the big question now is why did his vocals continue to be heard when he was laying unconscious on the stage?

Meat Loaf was performing ‘I’d Do Anything For Love’ when he fell. His voice continued to sing while he was flat on the floor.

Meat Loaf has a history of stuffing up vocals. His performance at Australia’s AFL Grand Final was beyond embarrassing.

The ghost vocals from a collapsed rock star further damage the reputation of the once great performer who these days obviously ‘phones the show in’ for fans.

An explanation for the mystery vocal is yet to be explained.

While we wait for an answer, please enjoy these other great pre-recorded moments in popular music.
