Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown was reportedly booed for her judging decision on America’s Got Talent.
The Spice Girls singer shares the TV talent show’s judging panel with Heidi Klum, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel.
Sources report to TMZ that Melanie did not win over the live audience during New York City auditions.
Apparently a comedian graced the stage on Tuesday and was buzzed by Melanie almost immediately after he delivered a joke ‘about how black taxi drivers are more entertaining than other taxi drivers’.
The website reports Melanie voiced her disgust immediately.
“I found it really offensive,’ she said.
‘There was no need to do a stereotypical black joke. It was not funny.”
According to insiders, audience members deeply disagreed with Melanie’s observation and booed her for the commentary.
When fellow panelist Howie asked spectators if they were offended by the witticism, they responded with a booming ‘no’.
Howard told Melanie her sense of humour was lacking.
Heidi is said to have agreed with shock jock Howard.
‘There will always be jokes made about being black and white … I agree with you that we should laugh about it,’ the model said.
America’s Got Talent crew are currently touring the US hosting auditions.
The show will premiere in June.
