540 Victorian artists submitted entries for the Melbourne Music Bank 2016. 12 have been picked as finalists.
Melbourne Music Bank showcases talent from a wide range of genres This year Victorian artists in hip-hop, alt-country, rap, folk, rock, pop, garage and soul applied.
“We’re thrilled with the record number of submissions this year. It confirms what we’ve known all along: that there’s an incredible amount of musical talent all over Victoria. We love supporting the arts and uncovering the next star to grace the Hamer Hall stage” say Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand and Marketing Jac Phillips.

Anna Oliphant Wright from Lake Gardens,
Ayyoob Meeragani from Fawkner,
B Cardamone from Richmond,
Batz from Collingwood,
Birdhouse from Caulfield,
BLOOM from McCrae,
HeavyHeads from Balaclava,
James Franklin from Dandenong,
Sienna Wild from South Melbourne,
Tempus Sun from Moonee Ponds,
Zii Music from Fawkner.
The Melbourne Music Bank winner will receive the ultimate toolkit to kick-start their music career: recording time at Melbourne’s The Studios In The City to record, mix and master an EP, two film clips, album artwork, printed CDs, styling, media training, and a photo shoot for the release. The winner also receives management and mentoring by Matt O’Connor, publicity by On The Map PR, radio plugging by Varrasso PR and gig bookings by 123 Agency, as well as the opportunity to tour the east coast of Australia, and perform at the renowned festival, Beyond The Valley festival.

The four entries with the most overall votes will perform in a finale at the Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on 25 October, where a panel of industry experts will crown the winner.
