Anna Oliphant Wright, Birdhouse, Bloom and Tempus Sun are the four acts competing for the 2016 Melbourne Music Bank prize.
“We’re thrilled with the calibre of our 4 finalists – the public certainly got it right! We can’t wait to see them rock the Hamer Hall stage at the finale,” said Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand and Marketing Jac Phillips.
The four entrants will perform at the Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on 25 October and await the announcement of this year’s winner.
The judging panel includes Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand and Marketing Jac Phillips, Emily Cheung from On The Map PR, manager Matt O’Connor, Damian Costin from 123 Agency and Frank Varrasso from Varrasso PR.
This is the fourth year of the Bank of Melbourne’s Melbourne Music Bank initiative. Unlike television reality shows, the Melbourne Music Bank is a platform for creators of music, songwriters, performers and musicians, to showcase their talent.
The prize is not fame but tools to gear up as a resource for their chosen industry.
This year’s $60,000 prize includes:
– Studio time with a producer, mixing and mastering engineers to record an EP
– Concept design, production, filming and editing of 2 film clips
500 CD copies of the EP
– A radio plugger, manager and booking agent
– Media training and styling
– On The Map PR services for a month
–
An east coast tour and a spot at the renowned Beyond The Valley music festival
