The Australian premiere of the Tony and Olivier Award winning production of ‘War Horse’ will take place at the Arts Centre State Theatre in Melbourne on New Year’s Eve.
‘War Horse’ is Nick Stafford’s stage adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo book telling the story of Joey, the horse of a boy called Albert, who is sold to the cavalry at the start of World War 1.
South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company bring the puppetry horse to life for the production from The National Theatre of Great Britain and Global Creatures.
‘War Horse’ will play at the State Theatre in Melbourne before moving to Sydney’s Lyric Theatre on March 16 and then Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre on July 6.
