Melissa Etheridge and her partner Linda Wallem married Saturday night at San Tsidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
The two 53-year olds started dating in 2010 after knowing each other for more than a decade. The wedding was attended by the ladies celebrity friends including Rosie O’Donnell, Chelsea Handler and Whitney Cummings.

On Friday she hinted at the wedding tweeting, “Linda and I had a great birthday yesterday. Now, just a little rehearsal for something we will be doing tomorrow…”

The marriage was a first for both women. They were engaged in June last year after changes to California law made same-sex marriage legal.
Wallem is a television script writer. She created the hit TV show Nurse Jackie and wrote for Cybill Shepherd’s ‘Cybill’. She has also had small acting roles in ‘Sleepless In Seattle’ and ‘Seinfeld’.
Melissa Etheridge is a two time Grammy Award winner and also won the Academy Award in 2007 for Best Original Song for ‘I Need To Wake Up’ from the documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Melissa has released 11 studio albums, 33 singles and 29 music videos. Her biggest selling album ‘Yes I Am’ sold over 5 million copies in the USA.
