Memo Music Hall will open its doors for the Opening Party for the Live N Local Festival in the City of Port Phillip in August.

The free evening of live music at Memo Music Hall will feature Lady Lash, Daniel Elia and Chicken Wishbone.

Acting Mayor Louise Crawford says, “Live N Local provides accessible entertainment to music lovers and musicians during a time of year when people may be less likely to venture out. We’re proud to offer an event that provides both a platform for artists to showcase their talent throughout our local area while also welcoming visitors to our venues during the colder months. Our 2019 program is one of great diversity which is representative of our City, and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Port Phillip region in the coming month.”

The Opening Party event at Memo Music Hall will be a free evening of live music, taking place from 7pm Saturday 24 August but you must book your free ticket online to attend.

The first song played was Skyhooks ‘You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed’ chosen because it was Australian, it was rebellious (because the song was banned at the time which reflected the rebellious image of the station) and being part of the ABC was not subject to the licencing laws of the commercial radio stations.
