Canadian indie rockers Metric will visit for Splendour, and reveal details of a Lou Reed collab on their next album.
The JUNO award-winners’ fifth studio album will be titled Synthetica and a song titled ‘The Wanderlust’ features a guest spot from legend Lou Reed.
The eleven-track album was produced by the band’s guitarist Jimmy Shaw, and will be preceded by their first single ‘Youth Without Youth’, which will be released on May 18.
Shaw said: “Synthetica is the sonic culmination of everything we have done. We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realise. We finally heard it coming out of the speakers this time. It’s futuristic and synthesised, yet also organic.”
Before Metric visit Belongil Fields in Byron Bay in July, they’re be doing some big arena shows in the UK.
Synthetica will come out on June 18.
