The Mi-Sex classic ‘Computer Games’ was released 40 years ago in September 1979. Mi-Sex will head to Melbourne in November to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song that became their ‘Classic Hit’.
‘Computer Games’ was a number one hit in Australia but also reached number two in Canada, number five in New Zealand, number 16 in Austria and number 44 in the Netherlands.
The song also reached number 61 on America’s Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
‘Computer Games’ was the 19th biggest hit of 1979 in Australia. Mi-Sex also recorded a Spanish version called ‘Juego De Computadoras’ and released a dance version in the UK.
Founding member and ‘Computer Games’ co-writer Steve Gilpin died in a car accident on the Gold Coast in 1992. Noiseworks’ guitarist Steve Balbi joined Mi-Sex as lead singer in 2011.
