Mi-Sex will return to Melbourne and Sydney this weekend to showcase new music.

The band now fronted by Noiseworks’ guitarist Steve Balbi will perform songs from the recently released ‘Extended Play’ album through Golden Robot Records.

Mi-Sex features Balbi on lead vocals and new guitarist Travis New but Steve says he is not there to replace original singer Steve Gilpin, who died in a car crash in 1992.

“I never intended to fill Steve Gilpin’s shoes, I just brought my own shoes in the hope that Mi-Sex fans would walk with me as the new singer of their beloved band. I love carrying the flag for Steve Gilpin and do so with great respect,” Balbi said.

Mi-Sex is now Steve Balbi (Lead Vocals), Don Martin (Bass), Murray Burns (Keyboards), Paul Dunningham (Drums), Colin Bayley (Guitar), and Travis New (Guitar).

Mi-Sex ‘Extended Play’ features the new song ‘Somebody’ plus reworked versions of Mi-Sex classics ‘Computer Games’ and ‘People’.

Mi-Sex will perform at the Memo Music Hall in St Kilda on Saturday April 2, 2016 with support from Golden Robot act The Plastic Fingers. The band will also play Sydney April 1 at The Bridge Hotel, Drummoyne.
