Michael Buble has teamed up with Reese Witherspoon for a duet of ‘Something Stupid’ on his next album ‘To Be Loved’.
‘Something Stupid’ was written by Carson Parks, brother of Van Dyke Parks, and originally recorded by Parks and his wife Gaile Foote under the name Carson and Gaile.
Frank Sinatra loved the Carson and Gaile song so much that he recorded it with his daughter Nancy Sinatra in 1967. It is the best-known version of the song.
Then in 2001, along came Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman and made it a hit all over again.
In a statement Buble said, “My new record is about love, happiness, fun and yummy things. Getting to work with my friend and long-time collaborator Bob Rock (Call Me Irresponsible, Crazy Love and Christmas) who produced the entire album was very exciting. We’re a good team. I love the songs we selected this time out. It was also terrific working once again with my song-writing partners.”
‘To Be Loved’ will feature four new original songs, all co-written by Michael Buble.
Michael also covers The Bee Gees ‘To Love Somebody’, Jackson Five’s ‘Who’s Loving You’ and Jackie Wilson’s ‘To Be Loved’ on the album.
‘To Be Loved’ will be released on April 12.
