Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski has defended Ellie Goulding’s AFL pre-game saying Ellie Goulding did perform her vocal live.
A technical glitch at the start of performance let to a social media backlash with fans criticising the British popstar for a lacklustre performance. Gudinski claims it was not her fault.
“Ellie performed live vocals to a backing track. This is a very common practice for performances in situations such as the Grand Final,” Gudinski said in statement. “Unfortunately a technical issue at the start of Ellie’s performance caused a brief hiccup but Ellie went on to prove just how much of a superstar she is, belting out two of her massive hits. Claims that Ellie lip synced her performance are absolutely untrue.”
Ellie Goulding will perform with her band at the post match entertainment from 6pm today. Bryan Adams and Chris Isaak will also perform at the free show.
Fans are able to attend the concert for free by entering the MCG via Gates 4,5 & 6 post 6pm.
