Mushroom boss Michael Gudinski has become a two-time Melbourne Cup winner. Rekindling, the horse co-owned by Gudinski finished in first place in the Melbourne Cup at Flemington and another of Michael’s horses Johannes Vermeer came in at second spot.
It was a big bucks win for Gudinski. The Melbourne Cup winner nabs $3.2 million in prize money while second place grabs $900,000.

For Gudinski it caps off a big year. He has just launched his new label Bloodlines with its first release ‘Sugar Rush’ from former Jet frontman Nic Cester.
Gudinski’s Frontier Touring has also nabbed one of its prize tours, the first Paul McCartney Australian tour in over 20 years. Frontier is also hosting the Midnight Oil shows in Melbourne this week.
Upcoming Gudinski driven Frontier Touring events include Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Bryan Adams and Jimmy Barnes.
