Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, along with producer William Orbit, are in the midst of working on tracks recorded by Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury in the early 80’s.
The Mail is reporting (and May’s site confirming) that work on the tracks should take about another two months with Brian calling their work “Exciting, challenging, emotionally taxing. But cool.”
The two superstar singers only worked together once at Jackson’s home in Encino, CA and it took until 2011 for the Jackson estate to give the go ahead for the completion and release of the recordings. It is expected that the Queen members will be adding instrumentation and harmonies to the original tracks.
A small bit of the track There Must Be More to Life Than This was featured in the BBC documentary on Mercury, The Great Pretender.
