Mick Fleetwood Blues Band To Play Sydney and Melbourne

in Live,News

Mick Fleetwood will perform Bluesfest sideshows with the Mick Fleetwood Blues band in Sydney and Melbourne as well as New Zealand in March and April.

The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band features Rick Vito who was the lead guitarist for Fleetwood Mac from 1987 to 1991 when Lindsay Buckingham had rested from the band. Vito is a long standing member of the Bonnie Raitt band and has played with Jackson Browne, John Fogerty and Little Richard.

The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band gives Fleetwood the chance to go back to his original Fleetwood Mac blues roots before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham injected the contemporary, commercial sound the band is known for today.

Except to hear early Fleetwood Mac songs ‘Albatross’, ‘Oh Well’ and ‘Black Magic Woman’ (yes, it is a Mac track, Santana did a cover) at the show.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two: Eric Gales, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram and Buddy Guy Steal The Day

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.
