Mick Fleetwood, Sammy Hagar, Krist Novoselic To Speak At SXSW 2017

SXSW has announced a new round of speakers with Mick Fleetwood, Sammy Hagar and Krist Novoselic added for next month’s conference.

Fleetwood will tell the story of Fleetwood Mac and launch his book ‘Love That Burns – A Chronicle of Fleetwood Mac’ (Genesis Publications).

Sammy Hagar will cover not only his music career but his success as a businessman and dedicated philanthropist.

Former Nirvana member Krist Novoselic is now a member of the Board of FairVote, the non-profit organisation seeking to make democracy fair.

SXSW has a dozen new speakers including Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin to Senator Cory Booker, and Veep actress Julia-Louis Dreyfus to pop singer and songwriter Kesha.

SXSW Australia and New Zealand meet-ups

The first SXSW Meet-Up is in Melbourne Friday February 10 between 6pm and 9pm at the garden area of Beer Deluxe (Federation Square) as the wrap-up event of Pausefest in which our Interactive head Hugh Forrest is presenting. You do not need to be a Pausefest delegate to join us for nibbles and drinks, just rock up to the door and let us know you are a SXSW registrant. No need to RSVP.

The Sydney SXSW Meet-Up is Monday 13 February 5:30-8:30 pm at WeWork Pyrmont, 100 Harris St., organised by Adrianne Nixon with speakers Alex Hayes (Mumbrella), Esti Zilber (Sounds Australia), Douglas Nicoll (The Works) There is a $10 entry to offset the venue charge but includes free beer, cider and nibbles and can be booked via Eventbrite [email protected] 0403137466

The Brisbane meet-up is Monday 13 February, 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm at The Hoo Ha Bar, Tribune Street, South Brisbane organised by four-time SXSW vet Sue Swinburne ([email protected]).

There is one in Auckland too February 23 at 7pm at The Golden Crown in Ponsonby. being organised by Paul Pritchard ([email protected])

SXSW will be held in Austin, Texas March 10-19, 2017.
