Mick Jagger has dedicated the Rolling Stones ‘Wild Horses’ to the victims of the shooting yesterday in Connecticut.
“I just wanted to take a minute and send our love and condolences to those who lost their loved ones yesterday,” Mick said as the band went into the somber classic.
The Rolling Stones are performing the last of their 50 and Counting shows in Newark, New Jersey tonight.
Already the audience has witnessed Lady Gaga on stage with The Stones performing ‘Gimme Shelter’ and Gary Clark Jr and John Mayer joining Keith Richards and Ron Wood for a four guitar assault of ‘I’m Going Down’.
The Stones also performed Bo Diddley’s ‘Who Do You Love’ with The Black Keys tonight. It was the second time ever the Stones have played the song live. The one and only other time was in Miami, Florida, on November 25, 1994 with Bo Diddley.
Bruce Springsteen joined the band for ‘Tumbling Dice’.
Mick Jagger indicated during the band intros that more shows will come. “This is our last show of this anniversary tour, and we hope to see you again soon,” he said.
