Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has denied Katy Perry’s claim that he once hit on her.
Sir Mick ‘categorically denies’ he made a move on Katy Perry in a statement via his publicist.
The 29-year-old American songstress revealed during an interview with Australian radio station Nova FM that Mick ‘hit on’ her around the time they first met.
But Mick completely dismisses Katy’s claims.
“Mick Jagger categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry,’ his representatives told E! News.
‘Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else.”
Katy recalled Nova FM this week: “I actually went to dinner with [Jagger] one time, and he hit on me when I was like 18! That was a long time ago, and he’s been very kind.”
When quizzed on how she turned down such a “legend” of a musician, Katy joked: “Well you bring a friend and then they do them! You sacrifice your friend!”
The stars have enjoyed a decade-long professional relationship, and Katy performed alongside the 70-year-old Rolling Stones rocker during the band’s 50 & Counting tour earlier this year. She also worked with him on his single Old Habits Die Hard from the 2004 movie Alfie.
Katy and her representatives have not yet responded to Mick’s response to her flirtation comments.
Mick is has been with his partner American model and fashion designer L’Wren Scott since 2001.
Katy is dating fellow musician John Mayer. And she recently said that being with John is easy because they understand each other’s work.
‘There’s a lot of understanding when you get home and say, ‘Ah, I had a pretty crappy show.’ They’re like, ‘I understand because I’ve had one, too.’ You get to share music. The dance parties are a lot more fun,’ she told Extra host Mario Lopez.
