Mick Peaking of Stars, Nikki Nicholls formerly of the Farnham band, Hugh Wilson from Lenny Kravitz band backed by musical director Joseph Calderazzo of the Jenny Morris band and featuring Dave Leslie of Baby Animals on guitar, will perform the music of Pink Floyd for The Great Gig In The Sky show this Friday night at Memo Music Hall in St Kilda.

The band will also feature Ian Tilley of Boom Crash Opera, Davey Porter from Jon Stevens band, Joel Sena and Nik Pringadi from Rock of Ages along with Michael Stangel from The Voice and newbie Nick Kurta.

The Great Gig In The Sky revolves around three iconic Pink Floyd albums ‘The Wall’, ‘Wish You Were Here’ and ‘Dark Side of the Moon’.

The title ‘The Great Gig In The Sky’ is a reference to the closing track on side one of the original ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ vinyl album. The original vocal on the album was improvised by Clare Torry in three takes. The released version features parts of all three improvisations. Nikki Nicholls is charged with replicating the Torry performance at the Memo show.
