It has suddenly become very obvious why Mick Taylor cancelled his Australian tour. He is going back on the road with his former band The Rolling Stones.

“Mick Taylor, who was a member of the Rolling Stones from 1969-74, will be a special guest throughout the tour,” states the Stones world tour announcement released today.

But wouldn’t that interfere with Australian dates planned for April? It seemed very suspicious when Taylor cancelled his Australian dates due to begin in Adelaide on April 11.

Ill health was cited as the reason for the cancellation of the tour but Mick still made good on shows in Spain soon after even after cancelling Australia because of “illness”. However, according to his official website, he still played in Madrid in March 7 and 8.

The Rolling Stones are awaiting NBA/NHL playoff schedules before they confirm their Los Angeles date to kick off the 50 and Counting world tour.

Check the confirmed dates here.
