Hip-hop artist Mickey Avalon will return to Australia in October.
The California rapper released his debut self-titled album in 2006 on the short-lies MySpace label and sang about his experiences with substance abuse and prostitution. His mother was a marijuana dealer and his father a heroin addict.
When Mickey was 19 his father was struck by a drunk-driver. Mickey later had to make a decision to take his dad off life-support. He then became a drug dealer and prostitute before making a career in the music industry.
Mickey Avalon’s latest release is the E.P. ‘Get Even’ on his own Rag Top Records.
“My new EP is some of the best work I’ve ever done. We’re about to shoot a video for the song Hollywood with a sick director, who came up with an amazing treatment for the visuals,” said Avalon. “It’s nice being home and recording, but I’m definitely ready to hit the road again. I’ll be touring all around the States, Canada, and then head to Australia. I hope everyone digs the tunes because there will be more coming very soon. Keep on rocking in the free world, and Avalonians unite!”
