Mickey Rooney, one of the greatest movie stars of all-time, has died at the age of 93.
Mickey Rooney, born Joseph Yule Jr in 1920, was a child star, making his first film Orchids and Ermine in 1927 at age 7. By the time Rooney was a teenager he was a superstar and one of the most well-known faces in America.
Rooney worked with all of the Hollywood greats including Judy Garland, Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Clark Gable in their prime. Judy Garland and Lana Turner went to the same school as Mickey, Hollywood High School. He graduated from the school in 1938.

Mickey’s big break was ‘Boys Town’ in 1938. He was just 17 when he took the role alongside Spencer Tracey.
Rooney worked with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin for NBC’s Club Oasis in 1960. One of his last roles was a cameo appearance in 2011 for The Muppets.
Mickey Rooney married eight times. At one time he was married to Ava Gardner who later married Frank Sinatra. He fathered nine children, who had 19 grandchildren and several great grand children.
