INXS look like having the number one album again this week with thanks to the Never Tear Us Apart TV documentary.
Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” looks set for a seventh week at No.1 in Australia this week, although the current long-running UK No.1 (four weeks is long on the English charts) “Rather Be” (TW-15) by Clean Bandit could challenge for the top spot, at the moment its sitting in second position.
Former No.1 “Say Something” by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera is still within the Top 5 alongside Avicii and “Addicted to You”, whilst leaping into the top five is Sara Bareilles with “Brave”, which has so far gone 96-40-17, so another big leap is probably gonna happen this week. Cash Cash should improve this week with “Take Me Home” (TW-8) whilst John Legend and Rudimental with Emeli Sande should retain their Top 10 placements. After jumping to No.13 this week with “Undressed”, Kim Cesarion looks set for a Top 10 placing, as too do the American Authors with “Best Day of My Life” (TW-18), whilst these two jumps might keep Aloe Blacc at No.11 for a second week with “The Man”.
There are two versions of “Never Tear us Apart” charting by INXS, which could push it past its No.14 peak from 1988 this week, whilst also climbing could be OneRepublic vs. Alesso with “If I Lose Myself”, and after languishing in the lower fifty for the past four weeks, Katy Perry and “Unconditionally” could leap back into the lower Top 20 this weekend, as the song is being used in the ‘Downton Abbey’ Season 4 TV promos on Channel 7. Potential Top 20 debuts could come from Lily Allen with “Air Balloon” and Will Sparks with “Catch”.
Chet Faker entered at No.82 with “Talk is Cheap”, the first track from his upcoming album “Built on Glass” (due April) album this past week, and it could jump into the Top 30 this weekend, whilst Eminem and Nate Ruess should keep climbing with “Headlights” (TW-29). “Braveheart” by UK four-piece girl-group Neon Jungle came in at No.80, and with massive amounts of airplay, it looks set for a Top 40 placing for this coming weeks chart, whilst debuting in the same area could be the first top forty placing for Peking Duk with “High”.
INXS seem to be retaining most of their chart placings from last week, with the seven they currently have charting being joined by “Mystify” in the lower end of the chart. Also joining the charts this week should be “Replay” by Zendaya, and Major Lazer with Pharrell Williams on “Aerosol Can” (both within the Top 60), Ball Park Music with “She Only Loves Me When I’m There” (Top 80), and after one of the contestants on Channel 7’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’ sang the song “You Can Do it” by Ice Cube (released Nov.1999) and the show played the original song as well, alongside with a Shazam and iTunes link, the song could make a lower Top 100 entry this week.
Albums:
INXS look set for a second week atop the ARIA Albums chart with their compilation “The Very Best”, thanks to the second part of the ‘INXS: Never Tear us Apart’ mini-series screening Sunday night here, which also seems to be helping their 1987 set “Kick” (TW-7) to climb higher also.
Chrvches and their album “The Bones of What You Believe” (HP-13, TW-45) could jump into the Top 10 for the first time this week, as well as Eminem returning to the ten with his latest set “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” with his tour starting today (19-Feb). And the Frozen Soundtrack, Avicii, Beyonce and John Butler Trio should all retain their Top 10 status this week, whilst Kanye West with “Yeezus” could return to the charts due to his tour announcement for May (tickets on sale next week).
“The Swing” by INXS returned at No.43 this week, and could jump into the Top 30 this weekend, whilst their 1990 album “X” looks set for a return alongside last weeks six album entries. The highest new entry could come from We Are the In Crowd with “Weird Kids” (Top 30); whilst I Killed the Prom Queen could debut in the same region with “Beloved”. Further Top 50 debuts could come via “The Outsiders” by Eric Church and the self-titled debut album for US metalcore band Issues. Another self-titled debut album could enter the lower reaches of the chars for ✝ ✝ ✝ (CROSSES), and we could see a second ever entry for Paul Rodgers with “The Royal Sessions “.
