Mike Tyson wants to carve a career in musicals.
The former champion boxer has already made his Broadway debut with his one-man show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, which is directed by Spike Lee and sees the sportsman opening up about his tumultuous life.
He has enjoyed being on stage so much he is now planning to make it his full-time job.
‘I want to dance and sing. I want to do some dancing and singing musicals,’ he is quoted as saying by British newspaper The Telegraph.
‘I don’t have the desire to be that guy any more. I was always the bad guy that wanted to be a good guy, but I didn’t know how to be a good guy. I was always so concentrating on being bad.’
Mike famously bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear during one bout, has children with several women, was jailed for rape and has battled drug addiction.
He is currently in Hong Kong where he will talk to a forum of financial professionals about the highs and lows of his life. Mike will focus on how he became a better person.
The former boxer famously spent much of the money he made on alcohol and drugs and joked he isn’t at the event to give economic advice.
‘I didn’t care about my business. I only cared about my glory,’ he explained. ‘You can’t buy that … [I was] the best fighter in the world. Nobody could beat me with money in my prime, you had to be a better fighter and there wasn’t any.’
