The official coroner’s report has been issued on the death of Mike Scaccia of the bands Ministry and Rigor Mortis.
Scaccia collapsed on stage Saturday night while playing in Fort Worth, TX.
The guitarist had just asked for the strobe lights to be turned off when he passed out. Some in the crowd reported him shaking, leading some to believe that he had a seizure due to the lights but the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled that Scaccia died from a heart attack.
The report noted that he had been suffering from heart disease and that the death was from natural causes.
The memorial for Scaccia has been scheduled for Sunday, December 30 at 3:00 PM at the Aristide Event Center, 570 North Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield, TX.
A fundraising campaign has also been started for Scaccia’s family by his Rigor Mortis bandmate Bruce Corbitt. “I’ve been giving the blessings to start an online Fundraiser for Mike Scaccia’s Wife Jenny and their Kids. So I will be posting the link for that soon. Also, there will possibly be a Scaccia Tribute/Benefit Show put together for them to honor Mike and also raise money to help them. It could be as soon as this coming weekend.”
Finally, the following has been posted to the Rigor Mortis Facebook page:
