Timbaland revealed in an interview that both he and Missy Elliott will have new albums this year.
Super-producer Timbaland revealed to MTV that he and Missy Elliott plan to release albums simultaneously in June this year.
The pair have been particularly pally on Twitter over the last few months and now the fruits of their combined labour are coming to, uh, fruition.
Timbaland said to MTV, “Right now, we’re preparing to get both our videos, our first singles, shot kinda at the same time. We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously.”
He added, “I just don’t want to move too ahead of her and she don’t want to move too ahead of me. So we’re both doing it at the same time.”
While Missy Elliott hasn’t released an album since 2005’s The Cookbook, she has been busy writing and producing for acts like Keyshia Cole, Monica and Jazmine Sullivan and joined Timbaland on a Devi Lovato song in 2011.
Her album is likely to be titled Block Party and she and Timbaland have been working on versions of it since 2008.
Timbaland’s is likely to be the third entry in his Shock Value series from 2007 and 2009.
