Website Monstro has created a music chart from what is getting listened to, in real time, online and on social media.
Themonstro.com is already collating statistics from Spotify, Hype Machine, iTunes/Ping, Rdio, YouTube and more to create real-time charts of what people are actually listening to online.
Co-founder Terry Goertz said in a press release: “The top questions in the music industry today are: ‘How are fans discovering and enjoying artists? Are my promotions increasing the fan base? and What songs are fans sharing the most?’ We designed the social music charts to provide these answers with more depth than has ever been possible”.
Currently on the top of their charts? Gotye’s ‘Somebody I Used To Know’, followed by Maroon 5’s ‘Payphone’, Fiona Apple’s ‘Every Single Night’, fun’s ‘We Are Young’ and Purity Ring’s ‘Obedear’.
It also shows Pandora charts and Top Artists (currently headed up by a Japanese musician Masaki Yoda).
Have a gander at what everyone on the internet is tuning into here.
