Morrissey’s smash Autobiography, which is selling beyond expectations in the U.K., will be making its way to the U.S. on December 3 via Penguin Random House.
Unfortunately, U.S. readers will not have the advantage of a straight-to-paperback release as happened in Britain. The book will first be issued in hardcover by G.P. Putnam’s Sons on December 3 with Penguin Classics, the same imprint as in Britain, issuing the paperback at sometime in the future.
After a postponement while the singer and Penguin worked out issues delayed the release of the book in the U.K. by about a month, it didn’t dampen fan’s enthusiasm as the release shot to the top of the British book charts, outselling the latest edition in the Bridget Jones series of books. It also set the record for the fastest sales for a music memoir, beating out Keith Richards’ Life by almost 25% in its first week of release.
