After a series of serious medical conditions, Morrissey’s doctors told him that he should consider retiring from music.

As has been the case all of his career, the singer is not listening to the authorities, planning a series of twelve shows for South America this July.

The announcement came on the True to You website.
Morrissey will play three shows in Peru, eight shows in Chile and one show in Argentina during July. Full details of venues will be announced within a day or two.

Kristeen Young will accompany as support.

There are presently no plans for any further shows for 2013.
While there had been an announcement of June dates in Mexico, they are currently not listed on the Morrissey-Solo site which says “Concerts in Peru, Chile and Argentina are planned for July. No further 2013 dates are planned.”
