Morrissey has revealed he is being treated for cancer.

The British singer cancelled numerous performances last year and has now confirmed that he has been treated on four occasions for the removal of cancerous tissue.

The forever flippant Morrissey told Spanish newspaper El Mundo, “I’ve had cancerous tissue cut off on four occasions now, but what more can you do? If I die, then I die. And if not, then I don’t.

“At the moment I feel well. I’m aware that the last photos that were published of me I looked worse but that’s what ill people look like. I’m not going to worry about it. I’ll relax when I’m dead.”

The 55-year old singer has had numerous health issues in recent years including a bleeding ulcer and double pneumonia in 2013 and a respiratory infection in June this year.

Just last month Morrissey commented in the death of Joan Rivers saying, “Joan Rivers dies. Lately, death is insatiable. Thank God black goes with everything. When Kirk Douglas dies … somebody, somewhere … switch out the lights.
