Mötley Crüe will perform a second show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena after initial tickets sales sold faster than any other city in the country.
Mötley Crüe will perform their final shows for Australia for Live Nation in May with special guest Alice Cooper. “We can’t wait to celebrate 34 years of Mötley Crüe with our Australian fans and come over there one last time,” said the band’s Nikki Sixx in a statement. “We always have an amazing time in Australia and we’re not holding back either… we are bringing along our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as the pyro and every other bell and whistle.”
For promoter Michael Coppel, it is a turn of events touring a band at the end of its career. “My career focus has been on building artist’s careers – it’s kind of perversely cool to be responsible for ending one,” says Michael Coppel, President & CEO, Live Nation Australasia.
Mötley Crüe’s Final Tour really will be a final tour. The band have even entered into a contact to formally end Mötley Crüe on December 31 this year. Their final show ever will be in hometown Los Angeles.
