David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reunite as Mulder and Scully for a six-show run on The X-Files.
The X-Files creator Chris Carter has confirmed the reunion to be filmed mid-year with a broadcast date yet-to-be decided.
The X-Files ran for six seasons from 1993. The supernatural sci-fi thriller was based around FBI agents Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson).
In the summer of 1998 the full-length feature film The X-Files was released. After the demise of the show in 2002, a second movie The X-Files: I Want To Believe was produced in 2008.
FUN FACT: The theme from The X-Files was inspired by The Smiths ‘How Soon Is Now’. Listen for the faint whistling piece 4:30 into The Smiths song.
