Muse premiered the video for ‘Follow Me’, the third single from their new album The 2nd Law, on their website and on YouTube today.
No ordinary karaoke-style lyric video, the words are a key element of the clip, emerging out of a series of abstract graphics that reflect the various musical shifts in the track, much like a next generation graphic equaliser.
Reactions by fans to the song have been mixed, with some comments on their Facebook page declaring it to be their favourite song on the album, while others criticised it for being too slow or having too much of an electronic sound.
Released last month, The 2nd Law is their sixth studio album and represents a new direction for the UK alternative rock group, introducing elements of dubstep and funk into their already considerable musical palette.
Madness, the second single from the new album, was released in August. The first single, Survival, served as the official song of the London 2012 Olympics.
Muse will be kicking off a 21-date North American tour in late January next year that will run through until the end of April.
