Adele ‘25’ has sold over 3 million copies in the USA and 210,000 in Australia in its first five days on sale to qualify as Triple Platinum in both countries.
The 5 day figure for Adele was at least 2.8 million with expectations of a few hundred thousand more by close of business. It will easily do 3 million in America, and possibly another 1 million next week if Black Friday predictions are accurate.
Adele holds another U.S. sales record – 21 is the only album in history to be the top-selling album for two years. It was the best-selling album of 2011, with sales of 5,824,000; and it was also the best-selling album of 2012, with sales of 4,414,000.
The Adele ‘Hello’ video has also been streamed almost half a billion times on YouTube.
Adele also performed ‘Million Years Ago’ on Today today.
