Adele ‘25’ is selling so fast in the USA that it is set to beat a 15 year record held by NSYNC.
In 2000 the NYSNC album sold 2.4 million in the first week. Adele ‘25’ will do around 3 million.
In addition to the record breaking first week sales ‘25’ is on track to sell 5 million in the USA alone, according to Hits Daily Double. ‘25’ is also expected to sell around half of all albums sold in the USA this week.
Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ album reached 5 million sales after 7 months on sale. Swift’s ‘1989’ sold 1,287,000 in its first week.
Last week, Justin Bieber had the fastest selling album of the year when ‘Purpose’ sold 508,000. The album was the fastest selling album of the year in Australia as well with 40,935 sales.
Adele’s last album ‘21’ sold 350,000 in its first week and went on to sell 11.1 million copies.
