Adele’s ‘25’ is continue to sell at record figures guaranteeing Coldplay’s latest ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ will not debut at number one.
Adele has sold over 1 million ‘25’ albums in the second week of sales in the USA and will pass 5 million by the end of week three.
Week three sales for Adele are estimated to come in at around 650,000 with Coldplay ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ expected to sell between 200k-250k.
‘25’ may very well stop Coldplay from reaching number one in the USA for the first time since 2002. Every Coldplay studio album from 2005 ‘X&Y’ (2005), ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ (2008), ‘Mylo Xyloto’ ‘2011’ and ‘Ghost Stories’ (2014), have been number one albums for Coldplay in America.
Coldplay also don’t have the luxury of a hit song from ‘A Head Full of Dreams’. The first song ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ peaked at no 53 in the USA and no 33 in Australia.
