While Gwen Stefani is off recording new albums and judging TV talent shows, the rest of the members of No Doubt have decided to move forward with an all new band.
Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young have joined forces with AFI frontman Davey Havok to form an as-yet unnamed new band. No word on what style of music the band will play as Havok comes from the world of rock while the No Doubt crew started in Ska and moved into dancehall.
According to Billboard, the band will be managed by Pat Magnarella, who also reps Green Day, and has completed an album which will be out when they have a label deal.
Whether this will be No Doubt’s permanent new band is not known. They released Push and Shove with Stefani in 2012 and toured last year, but sales on that album were not good and Gwen appears to have moved on with new management and focus for her career.
On the other hand, AFI is still going strong with their 2013 album Burials peaking in the top ten and hitting number 3 on the Alternative chart.
