Rapper Azealia Banks is reportedly being investigated for physically attacking a security guard.
Website TMZ claims Banks was kicked out of the Break Room 86 venue in Los Angeles in October (15) after her behaviour was deemed “unruly”. After being told to leave, Azealia allegedly tried to pull the fire alarm on her way out.
A security guard reportedly “grabbed” the star to stop her from touching the fire control valves, which is when the rapper and her crew allegedly began their attack. TMZ claims to have footage of the incident, with a blurry security video showing a scuffle. LAPD has apparently opened a criminal battery investigation.
The news comes after Azealia cancelled the remainder of her US tour on Monday (09Nov15). She was due to play live shows in five American cities throughout November (15) but now the gigs have been called off.
“Hi guys, I’m very busy at work,” Azealia wrote on her Twitter account. “Your coins will be refunded and I will be back in January.”
It’s thought she will play an isolated concert in New York City at Terminal 5 on 19 November (15).
This is the second time this year the 24-year-old has pulled out of a string of gigs – in July (15) she was due to tour with R&B singer K. Michelle, but decided to scrap the dates in a bid to avoid overworking herself with multiple projects.
Azealia’s autumn tour dates were the rescheduled gigs from her initial tour with K. Michelle.
