The Pet Shop Boys have released the second track from their upcoming album Super.
A lyric video for The Pop Kids was posted today to YouTube and the track was released to Spotify and other services.
The Pop Kids is actually the first single from the album even though they had released the audio for Inter Sanctum when the album was announced in January. The new track is available right now for those who have pre-ordered Super and will also be released on March 18 as a digital and CD single with the tracks:
The Pop Kids (radio edit)
In bits
One-hit wonder
The Pop Kids (PSB deep dub)
The Pop Kids (The full story)
The PSB deep dub and The full story versions were remixed by the Pet Shop Boys and include added vocals and, with The full story, an additional verse that “brings the story of The Pop Kids up to the present.” In Bits was produced and remixed by Stuart Price while PSB produced One-Hit Wonder with Pete Gleadall engineering. One-Hit Wonder was originally written in 1981 and remade in 2014 as the theme for the Berlin show of the same name.
Super will be released April 1.
