Britney Spears has delighted fans by confirming she’s recording new music.
Spears soared to fame following the release of her 1999 debut album …Baby One More Time as a teenager and has released seven records since. And now loyal followers can rejoice as the blonde beauty has revealed she’s busy getting fresh material together, sharing the news on social media.
“Working hard and hardly working…new album…wheeeee! (sic)” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and two friends pulling secretive poses on Instagram and Twitter.
Fans were quick to comment on her company, naming the male as musician and songwriter Justin Tranter and the female as music star Julia Michaels. This only added to their excitement, with one devoted listener commenting: “stop teasing us & drop a new single Queen! We’re dying for new music from you” followed by several cry-face emojis.
This announcement follows a tweet she wrote at the end of October (15). She revealed she’d just recorded vocals for a song she “loves”, teasing with the hashtag “#B9” referring to the album number it would be from.
Britney’s 2013 album Britney Jean boasted hit single Work B***h and will.i.am collaboration It Should Be Easy, following their successful teaming up on his song Scream & Shout. But rather than taking a break, the singer has kept herself busy with her Las Vegas residency Britney: Piece of Me show at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. She’s been there since 2013 and has extended shows until 2017. Recently she delighted a fan called Alycia by penning a hand-written letter to her and offering her tickets to her show after being impressed by her dramatic weight loss.
In the card, Britney wrote, “Alycia, Your hard work and dedication are so inspiring – you look amazing! You are a beautiful person inside and out. Would love for you to reward yourself and come to one of my shows in Vegas in 2016! Let me know what day, and I’ll make sure you get a pair of tickets.”
