David Bowie has released his 25th studio album ‘Blackstar’ and launched the album with a video for ‘Lazarus’.
The song ‘Lazarus’ was released in December 2015 and will be included in the Bowie off-Broadway production of the same name.
Bowie became work on ‘Blackstar’ immediately after the release of his last album ‘The Next Day’, released on his 66th birthday.
January 8, 2016, the official release date for ‘Blackstar’ is Bowie’s 69th birthday.
The ‘Lazarus’ video was directed by Johan Renck who said, “One could only dream about collaborating with a mind like that; let alone twice. Intuitive, playful, mysterious and profound… I have no desire to do any more videos knowing the process never ever gets as formidable and fulfilling as this was. I’ve basically touched the sun.”
