Dixie Chicks have been on a semi-hiatus for almost a decade.
Their last album, Take the Long Way, and it’s hit single challenging the right wing naysayers who boycotted the group after controversial comments about President Bush, Not Ready to Make Nice, came out in 2006, winning the Grammy for Record, Song and Album of the Year.
In the years since, the trio have resurfaced on occasion including opening for the Eagles in 2010 and at the recent Bridge School Benefit, and the duo of Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, as the Court Yard Hounds, released an album as did lead singer Natalie Maines, but there has not been a full on Dixie Chicks tour in almost a decade.
In April and May, the Chicks will play a number of shows around Europe before returning to North America for a major tour that will see them hit forty cities between June and October.
