Conan O’Brien has paid tribute to Garry Shandling calling him “extremely innovative and intelligent”.

Conan said Garry “was revered by everyone in comedy. He was a masterful writer and performer. He went on to create incredibly ground-breaking comedy shows that inspired an entire generation of comedians”.

Garry Shandling died on Thursday after collapsing at his home in the Hollywood Hills. He was 66.
